From Surviving to Thriving
Connecting Women to Essential Services & a Brighter Future
In close collaboration with our community partners, we are dedicated to supporting commercially exploited women by connecting them to essential services that break the cycle:
Empowering Survivors with Career Opportunities
Our program connects survivors to employment opportunities with employers who care, helping them to regain financial independence. We collaborate with local businesses and training programs to provide pathways to meaningful and sustainable careers.
our mission
Connect 2 Change provides immediate shelter and support to women fleeing sex trafficking in Greater Sacramento. Through community partnerships, we connect survivors to essential services such as counseling, medical care, education, employment, and permanent housing programs.
Understanding Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a grave and pervasive violation of human rights that involves the recruitment, transportation, harboring, or receipt of individuals through force, coercion, deception, or other forms of exploitation for forced labor, sexual exploitation, or other illicit activities.
Traffickers target those they view as most vulnerable.
Reasons one might be considered more susceptible include:
-
Psychological or Emotional Stress
-
Economic Hardship
-
Lack of Social Safety Net
-
Natural Disaster Exposure
